Lime mnuddy Buddies

Lime Muddy Buddies are one of my favorite snacks to keep on hand. They're tart, sweet, chocolaty, crunchy...basically it's like someone said, "Hey, so what do women crave?" and then this was born.

Recipe type: snack
Ingredients
  • 9 cups Chex cereal
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips

  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. Pour Chex into a large bowl and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, microwave chocolate on high for 30-seconds at a time until melted and smooth when stirred (it will take a 1½ to 2 minutes). Pour melted chocolate over cereal and stir (gently) until evenly coated.
  3. In a separate small bowl, combine Jello and powdered sugar.
  4. Pour cereal mixture and powdered sugar mixture into a resealable plastic bag and shake until well coated.

S'MORES BITES!!

heart emoticon S'MORES BITES!! heart emoticon Ok WHY WOULD YOU NOT MAKE THIS LOL
Yield: 24
Ingredients
7 whole graham crackers (equals 1 cup), finely crushed
1/4 cup powdered sugar
6 tablespoons butter, melted
2 (1.55 oz) milk chocolate candy bars (I used Hershey's), divided into rectangles
12 large marshmallows, cut in half
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Finely crush the graham crackers into crumbs, using whatever method you want. I used my slap chop, but a food processor would work or even putting them in a plastic bag and smashing.
Combine graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar and melted butter into a small bowl.
Evenly divide crumb mixture into each cup of a 24 cup mini muffin pan, grease slightly before using. Press crumbs down to form shallow cups.
Bake 4-5 minutes or until edges are bubbling.
While that's baking, break the candy breaks into the divided rectangle pieces. Also cut the marshmallows in half using a scissors that has been sitting in cold water.
Remove the pan from the oven and place one chocolate rectangle into each cup.
Place one marshmallow half, cut-side down, into each cup.
Return to oven for 2-4 minutes or until marshmallows are just slightly softened.
If you'd like the tops to be brown, turn the oven to broil, and broil the s'mores bites for 1-2 minutes.
Cool on a cooling rack for 15 minutes before carefully removing them from the pan.
Notes
Do not freeze, preferably eat within 3 days of making.

Queen of Clean uses Alcohol

We all have that bottle of rubbing alcohol sitting in a cabinet somewhere. Did you know it is a great cleaniang product? Here's a few uses you probably never thought of.
USES FOR RUBBING ALCOHOL
• General All Purpose Laundry Spotter
Combine the following to make a generic spotter that works on a wide variety of stains:
1 Part Rubbing Alcohol
2 Parts water
If you use a large spray bottle you can add 1 bottle of alcohol and 2 of the alcohol bottles filled with water. Spray this on spots and spills. Wait a few minutes and launder as usual.
• Use undiluted rubbing alcohol on grass stains. Work in, let sit 10 minutes and launder as usual.
• To remove water spots and soap scum, wet a cloth or paper towel with rubbing alcohol and rub firmly. Buff with a soft cloth or dry papertowel.
• Rubbing alcohol is a great cleaner for the exterior of all appliances. Mix 2 part rubbing alcohol and 1 part water in a spray bottle. Spray on and buff clean.
• Before polishing shoes, rub with undiluted rubbing alcohol. The polish will go on smoother.
• Watercolor paint on carpet: Apply rubbing alcohol with a sponge, blotting the stained area. Turn the sponge as the stain is absorbed. Repeat until no more stain is being removed. To finish, blot with cold water and use paper towels to absorb moisture from carpet.
• Making your own windshield washer solvent:
Combine 1 quart of rubbing alcohol, 1 cup water and 2 tablespoons liquid dishwashing soap or laundry detergent. This should not freeze even at 30 degrees below zero.
• Tough Job Window Cleaner:
Combine 1 pint rubbing alcohol, 2 tablespoon ammonia and 2 tablespoons liquid dish soap. Apply to the window using a nylon-covered sponge, rinse and buff dry. Great for screen stains, hard-water spots and bird stains. This formula uses NO water.

5 BBQ PLACES TO TRY IN SAN DIEGO CA

1 Iron Pig Alehouse

Opened last fall and offering a modern take on barbecue, Iron Pig is doing admirable work in the field of meat thanks to chef Rick Daniels, a son of Texas and an alum of Whisknladle. Try his Texas-style brisket or dry rubbed pulled pork and spare ribs; don't miss the hickory-smoked chicken wings, served with regular or spicy barbecue sauce and homemade ranch.

Baked Chicken from Queen of Clean

RECIPE WEDNESDAY
This one is totally a keeper. Very crunchy and moist. Good for a family dinner or company. Great with rice and a salad. I make it frequently.
BEST BAKED CHICKEN
Ingredients
• 8 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
• 1 cup sour cream (I used light)
• 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice or bottled
• 2 teaspoons soy sauce (I used low sodium)
• 2 teaspoons celery salt (optional)
• 2 teaspoons garlic salt (I used garlic powder)
• 1 dash pepper
• 1 (6 ounce) package herb-seasoned stuffing mix, crushed into crumbs
• 1/2 cup butter, melted
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking dish or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
In a medium bowl, mix the sour cream, lemon juice, soy sauce, celery salt, garlic salt, and pepper.
Dip each chicken breast in the sour cream mixture, then roll in the stuffing mix to coat. Arrange chicken in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle with the melted butter.
Bake 40 to 50 minutes in the preheated oven, until the chicken is no longer pink and the juices run clear.
NOTE: Crush the stuffing mix in a plastic bag with a rolling pin. For easy clean up put the crumbs on a paper plate to dip the chicken in.
Recipe can easily be cut in half.

Crazy Chocolate Cake

Think of today as RECIPE WEDNESDAY! This one is so good and so easy, you won't believe it. Everytime I serve it, people ask for the recipe. You can double the cake and frosting for 9 x 13 pan. The cake is not too sweet and the frosting is amazing.
CRAZY CAKE
1 and 1/2 cups flour
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup water
1 batch Thick Chocolate Frosting (recipe below)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8×8 baking dish.
Combine flour, cocoa, sugar, baking soda, and salt in pan and stir.
Create 2 small and 1 large depression in the surface of dry ingredients. Pour vanilla and vinegar into a small depression and vegetable oil into the large. Pour water over surface and stir until batter forms.
Bake for 35 minutes.
THICK CHOCOLATE FROSTING
INGREDIENTS
• 2 and ½ cups powdered sugar
• 2 tablespoons butter, softened
• 1 and ½ tablespoons cocoa
• 2 tablespoons heavy cream
• A dash of salt
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Cream together butter and heavy cream.
2. Add powdered sugar, cocoa, and a dash of salt. Continue to mix for 1-2 minutes.
If frosting is too thick, add a couple of drops of the heavy cream.
